April Challenge
The Gruberik Rallye
The beginning of the season starts with racing at its finest: Staggered starts, enthusiastic teams, and giving everything to have the top time at the finish line.
Prove your mastery of the terrain in this no-excuses challenge by showing off your adaptability, and leave the competition to eat gravel!
Challenge Requirements
- You can submit up to three scoring runs1 (as opposed to just one). The winner will be determined by the amount of scoring runs, using the total time of all runs as a tiebreaker
- Each run must adhere to the following requirements:
- Kill the Master Jelly2 with a unique party3
- You may use a ROM patched with the "Alternative Main Character" romhack4
- the three best runs (or less) you submit that fill the requirements count as your scoring runs; if you submit a faster run with the same party, it will improve the previous party's time instead of counting as an additional run; if you submit a fourth party with a faster time than one of your previously submitted runs, it will replace the run with the worst time
- the Master Jelly counts as being killed when you trigger the fading animation upon it being reduced to 0 hit points, just like the timing for speedrun attempts
- for a party to be unique, it can not contain the exact same character group from another run you submitted; capsules are not considered characters for the party
- you can obtain that romhack from the rompatcher that's linked in the Material section below; runs done without the rompatch can be submitted to SRC if you get a personal best, whereas runs done with the rompatch allow for normally impossible party combinations
Material
You can obtain the romhack from the Lufia II ROM Patcher. To get the correct file, simply upload a Lufia 2 US ROM and check the "Alternative Main Character" checkbox, along with your character selection (certain other patches will already be included, so don't check anything in addition, other than visual patches optionally).
